Bible Note: Hi Searcher, You gave an excellent answer. Can we also say with assuredness that this Man is not a sinner? Would you go with the NASB for John 9:33, "If this Man [sic] were not from God, He could do nothing." Would it also help in understanding that He is God, if we recognized Him as the Prophet [sic]? Is not the former blind man saying "He is the Prophet".? Chapter nine of the gospel of John can also open our eyes to seeing the Son of Man as that One. John 9:37, "Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him, and He is the One who is talking to you." Our eyes can be opened along with John the baptist to see the *One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit (holy spirit?). John 1:34,""And I have seen, and have borne witness that this is the Son of God." 35 Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples, and he looked upon Jesus as He walked, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God."" We see the Son of Man and worship Him. We see the One who baptizes in the *holy *spirit is indeed the Son of God. And we behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. This is He. This is God. We see because while He was in the world, He was the Light of the world. Thanks, Searcher, for answering my post. I hope that no one was confused by my incorrect reference in the first sentence of my original posting. I had been comparing Psalm 31:14 and John 8:54. From the heart, Ray |
