Bible Question:
I am a single mother of a six month old. I feel as if I should marry her father. I was wondering if it says anywhere in the Bible on what is the right thing to do. I read on verse that said "if you are commiting fornication to marry and make it right" I forgot where I read it I think it was in matthew. I know it was the new testament. I need help with this question.. thanks unmarried |
Bible Answer: Hello Daneiyella, To answer your question. If you and this man are still have sexual relations and you are not married than you are committing a sin. I believe that if you love him and plan on staying together and will continue in a sexual relationship than you should get married. Here are some verses I have found for you. I Corinthians 7 9but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion. Matthew 5 27“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’[e] 28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 1 corinthians 6 The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”[b] 17But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. 18Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. Hope this helps! |
