Subject: Search and see that...? |
Bible Note: Search and see that there is here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but only the worshipers of Baal. 2 Kings 10:23 In both Scriptures, the directive is to search and see. What is the OBJECT of the search? In John, the inference is one of arrogant accusation, that Jesus did not know the Word of God, and yet, THE WORD was standing before them and they did not recogonize Him because they were not looking for Him. They assumed things about Him that were incorrect. Would this be an indication to us as believers to be sure search and see for ourselves rather than to listen to what others may say about the Lord? In the OT passage, the object of search was for true believers. How did they know the difference? Are we able to discern those among us who are wolves among the flock? Search and see . . . I'll be waiting to read your thoughts on these verses! Happy fishing! mommapbs |
