NASB | John 7:1 After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 7:1 After this, Jesus walked [from place to place] in Galilee, for He would not walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him. |
Bible Question: Now Jesus knew He was going to die on a cross, so why would he avoid going through a certain town if he said that the Jews were seeking to kill him, do you think that Jesus was thinking that it was going to be then? Hope you understand what I am saying |
Bible Answer: Hi Fwiaskycap, Go to vs. 6, as Jesus says "My time is not yet come." You find He saying things like that several times, as He is in charge of when, where, and how He was to die. You recall Jesus told Judas "what you do, do quickly", sending Judas to betray Him, even thought the priests wanted to wait until after the feast. Several times the Jews wanted to kill Jesus. Sometimes He just "slipped away", others, like here, he just simply didn't go there, so as to not incite a scene that it was not yet time for. I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |
