Bible Question: Can enayone explain me? |
Bible Answer: If one concludes that our Lord Jesus broke no laws established by God under the Old Covenant, then one would also have to conclude that Jesus was not making a literal reference to His flesh and His blood. Otherwise, Jesus disobeyed the Law established in Leviticus 17:10-11. But in all, I'm just not real certain. However, rather than focusing on individual beliefs and pushing personal opinions that further confuse and ultimately harm someone in search of a beneficial answer, as some have done, I believe you should view the referenced Scripture as such: Some believe the bread and wine actually become Christ's flesh and blood. Some believe the bread and wine do not physically change but Christ is spiritually present. Yet others believe the bread and wine are merely symbolic. Though many will differ in their opinions of what it actually is or what it becomes, the common sentiment among Christians is that the Lord's Supper is an important element and that however we view the bread and wine, when we partake, it strengthens us spiritually. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (NIV)23For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. Pertaining to what has been presented in this forum on this issue, and many others, all sides present very strong arguments for their position. But keep in mind, they are human arguments, and they are fallible. What is not fallible however, is the Word of God. Seek it and ask for your answer. Don’t be surprised if you get it. WOS |
