Subject: SHOULD I TAKE THE LORDS SUPPER WITH UNCO |
Bible Note: I assume the title of this thread should read. "Should I take the Lords Supper with unconfessed sin." If that is correct my first thought is why allow unconfess sin be a part of your life? If you believe in Jesus Christ and I assume you do since you interested in communion, why not confess your sin to Jesus and get it behind you? How important is it to make regular use of 1 John 1:9? Very important. Unconfessed sin tends to bother us as evidenced by the fact you ask about it. Interestingly as humans that is how we are wired, if you will, unconfessed sins bother us. God knew this and Jesus as our high priest is always ready to hear our confessions. What often isn't spoken about in sin is the natural consequence sin carries with. Besides putting our eternal lives in danger sin usually carries consequences that effects our physical lives today. Sin that is unconfessed is sin not dealt with and as such tends to trouble us. We can have salvation but without confessing our sins it is like a loose end dangling waiting to snag and unravel our lives. |
