Bible Answer: Reilly, the fact of the matter is that Scripture does not tell us why Jesus did not personally perform baptisms. Neither are we made privy to what may or may not have been especially significant by Jesus' abstention from performing baptisms. What we do know is that Jesus approved baptism; He did, in fact, command it in His commission (commonly known as the Great Commission) to His disciples in Matthew 28:19. --Hank |
