Bible Question: Why the so much confusion as regard this verse- Is it an actual birth or water baptism or reformation of character- Why is this chapter not in the Jeromes Commentary of the bible used by the catholics |
Bible Answer: I didn't know there was much confusion around John 1:12 today. Verse 13, explains further about verse 12. In Jesus time, this concept could of been hard to grasp since they didn't have the completed Scriptures and this was basically be presented as a new concept to them. As far as Jerome’s Commentary (assuming you are referring to the New Jerome’s Commentary), I think a Catholic forum would be more of a suited place for that discussion. My very limited knowledge is that this commentary is very debatable. Brad |
