Bible Answer: The heart b) The center and seat of spiritual life 1) The soul or mind, as it is the fountain and seat of the thoughts, passions, desires, appetites, affections, purposes, endeavors 2) Understanding, the faculty and seat of the intelligence 3) The will and character 4) Soul so far as it is affected and stirred in a bad way or good, or of the soul as the seat of the sensibilities, affections, emotions, desires, appetites, passions c) Middle or central or inmost part of anything, even though inanimate Matt 22:37-40 37 " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 "This is the first and great commandment. 39 "And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." Exod 25:8 "And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. Things that are important to our lives. Things of value. Earthly possessions. Giving things that hold our heart. John 17:16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. John 17:18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. One can’t make a sanctuary if one holds on to things of the world. A place that is set apart. So our offering has to be of ourselves. Not Only a half-hearted attempt of an offering, but an offering that God Himself would be pleased and Dwell with us. We cannot do this on our own, so Jesus who is our Prefect Sacrifice gives us strength and help in time of need. Faith. I John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. I John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcome the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-- our faith. And His Desires become our desires John 17:17 "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
