Bible Question: What is love in regards to the bible |
Bible Answer: The bible in my opinion answers the question in different ways. In the old testament we read of Jacob loving Rachel, this is a passionate romantic love. In the new testament we read of agape love. This is a love that serves others regardless of our feelings toward them. A modern marriage may be founded on passionate love, but will not last without agape love. When christians stand on the altar and recite vows it must be promising agape love, because I don't believe we fully control how we feel toward someone. Therefore you cannot promise to always feel love towards someone. |
