Subject: Who is God using? |
Bible Note: Greetings Parable! You wrote:"By proclaiming the end times, you proclaim that there is no point to invest in next year's fields." On the contrary, by proclaiming the "end times" we heighten the level of concern of the workers to be diligent in their work, whatever task God has called them to! Do all workers in the Lord's field only REAP? Seems to me that we all have a responsibility to be about our assignments even if it is to re-arrange the pictures on the walls of the Church(in fact many need to come down!) And frankly, I believe that a lot of churches need even more re-decorating than that! It seems to me that as the "level of concern" is heightened with the prospect of the Lord's imminent return, believers will be bold in their witness to proclaim the faith that they possess to others who need to know the Truth. What better time to dialog as we see prophecy unfold before our very eyes; this allows us to direct others to the absolute authority of God's Word in ALL things! As you wrote, we do not need to know WHEN the end will come, but we need to focus on the fact that we KNOW that it WILL happen and respond appropriately! "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man." Mt 24:37 Isn't it possible that during the hundred or so years it took Noah to build the Ark he preached that "the end is coming?" Notice how the people responded! We should not be surprised if our message of Christ's return is also ignored. Yet this does not excuse us from making the proclamation! Christians indeed should be aware of the "signs of the times" and sense an urgency in their witness. The fields, "white unto harvest" are what the Lord sees - He places workers in His field to accomplish the tasks that will bring this to pass. He alone is the LORD of the Harvest! (Luke 10:2)Sowing, cultivating, irrigating, weeding and harvesting will continue from today until the last soul is saved. Proclaiming "today" is the day of salvation is never diminished by the anticipation of what "tomorrow" holds - it is the very reason we preach the "Good News!" For without the coming judgment of Almighty God, what would we need to be saved from? The KING IS COMING - Come soon Lord Jesus! Blessings, Mommapbs |
