NASB | John 21:7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved *said to Peter, "It is the Lord." So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his outer garment on (for he was stripped for work), and threw himself into the sea. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 21:7 Then that disciple (John) whom Jesus loved (esteemed) said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer tunic (for he was stripped for work) and threw himself into the sea [and swam ashore]. |
Bible Question:
In John 19:26-27 it says, "When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son" and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on this disciple took her into his home." Who is the disciple he is talking to here? Is it Peter, who is known as the disciple Jesus loved? If I remember correct, in the movie "The Passion of the Christ" it shows James as the disciple. If I am wrong about that let me know. |
