NASB | John 21:18 "Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will gird you, and bring you where you do not wish to go." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 21:18 "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and walked wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and arms, and someone else will dress you, and carry you where you do not wish to go." |
Bible Question: One of the diciples was killed by being hung on a cross upside down. Was it Paul or Peter or ????? |
Bible Answer: “Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to gird yourself, and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will gird you, and bring you where you do not wish to go. Now this He said, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God.” (John 21:18-19) We are told from Church history that Peter was crucified on a cross upside down because he did not consider himself worthy to be crucified in the same way as His Lord. |
