AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 21:15 ¶ So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these [others do--with total commitment and devotion]?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You [with a deep, personal affection, as for a close friend]." Jesus said to him, "Feed My lambs." |
Bible Question (short): why does Jesus not correct Peter on love |
Question (full): In John 21:15-17 Jesus and Peter are having a conversation about "love". In the Amplified, Jesus seems to be having a different conversation than Peter. Why does Jesus leave the conversation as it is - not correcting Peter in his perception of what Jesus is asking? |
