Bible Question:
I usually study scripture with scripture, but I was wondering if anyone knew particularly about this tradition and how that custom may have intertwined with scripture's detail. Thanks for your response. Angela |
Bible Answer: Hello Angela, The folded napkin is understood to mean that the Master is not finished. When sitting to eat the slave would stand by silently, and the Master would have his meal. If he put the napkin on the table in a manner (unfolded) meant that he was finished. Jesus left the napkin folded, He is not finished, He is returning. What a great message. wordoer |
