Bible Question: If we are doubting God, is it ok to ask Him for a sign to confirm our faith in Him? |
Bible Answer: Greetings marnon! Gideon asked for God to give him a sign twice, and God answered him each time! (Judges 6:17-27, 36-40) However, Matthew 12:39 states, "But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;" We really do not need a sign today, since we have already been blessed with the ultimate revelation of Jesus Christ's coming, death and resurrection. So should we ask for a sign? Better yet, we should ask the Lord for guidance in our lives and for the Holy Spirit's leading when we pray. Blessings to you, Nolan |
