AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 2:24 But Jesus, for His part, did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all people [and understood the superficiality and fickleness of human nature], |
Subject: The condition of our hearts |
Bible Note: Signs are important in the gospels because they are meant to prove that Jesus is the Messiah. However, these people appeared to only follow him because of the signs. It may be that they wanted to be entertained. Whatever their superficial reason for "believing" it is obvious that Jesus knew their hearts and was not impressed by what he knew to be there. May our hearts be impressed only by the fact that Jesus came into our world to make it possible for us to come to God. |
