Bible Question: Did Josepph (Father of Jesus) die before Jesus was hung on cross? |
Bible Answer: Hello shawnshelto, John 19:26-27 (ESV) When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son!" [27] Then he said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother!" And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home. From this passage, we can state Joseph was no longer around. It would not have been necessary to place Mary in John's care if Joseph was still there. Also, we can assume that Joseph had died rather than being divorced because of his godly character when Mary was found to be pregnant. Steve |
