Bible Question: What happens if one has been praying for the same things, for the last three years or so and no answer until now??? Is the problem on the person' side or somewhere in between??? Please help.!!! |
Bible Answer: Greetings! Jesus prayed for our unity almost 2,000 years ago. Has this prayer been answered? I suspect most of us who have been around the FOrum for a while would say , "No." Does this mean that God will not respond to Jesus' prayer - again, "No." When I am frustrated by unanswered prayer I must remember that sometimes God says "Yes;" sometimes God says "No;" and sometimes God says "Wait a while." You are in the "waiting room" right now. Why? Good question. First of all, God is at work. He is preparing to answer you according to HIS will - do you seek that first? James tells us that we have not because we ask with the wrong motives.(James 4:3) Examine yours and ask God to search them - as David exclaimed, "see if there be any wicked way in me!" See Psalm 37:4 - as you continue to read and meditate upon God's Word, HE will give you the deires of your heart. When HE gives you YOUR desires, whose are they? They are God's. When we pray, asking God to give us HIS desires, we are praying in accordance with His will. Therefore, even if His answer seems to be taking a long time, or if His answer is not what you were expecting of Him, do not be discouraged. The Lord hears and will respond, but in His Way (and remember His ways are not our ways) and in His timing. 3 years is a very short time to pray for something when we consider the Old Testament saints. They had the promise of God and earnestly prayed for its fulfillment - without seeing it happen (Heb 11). But we, as believers, have the promised Savior AND His promises! God keeps His promises. He will answer you. Keep trusting Him to work all things together for good! Blessings, mommapbs |
