Bible Question: Does the Bible give us any guidance on denominationalism as we know it today? --Hank |
Bible Answer: Hank ... God HATES it. Our Lord prayed for unity. The early church did solve rifts: - Acts 6:1-7 providing food for the Greek widows. - Acts 15 giving and taking with the new Greeks. I think Satan knew what his job was - to divide us. Then in 1 Cor 1:18-4:13 Pual addresses the issue of divisions in the church. We need to find a way to overcome the minor issues that divide us, for one we will need each other, like our brothers and sisters who are dying for their faith (Heb 10:33-34).
