Bible Question: In John Chapter 17, what does Jesus says about his relationship with the Father? What does his prayers say about his relationship with God? |
Bible Answer: john739 First Jesus and God are one. What Jesus is expressing here is that Jesus' human desires are subordinate to God. That Jesus the man will in obedience do the Father’s will. Jesus is praying that God’s will be accomplished, that He, Jesus had done everything God has sent Him to do and that it was time for Him to step back into the glory which He had laid down to accomplish the task God had given Him. We then see Jesus pray for His disciples and every believer reaffirming the Covenant made between God the Father and God the Son that whosoever would believe in Jesus for salvation would have everlasting life.
