Bible Question:
When Jesus said 'In that day', was 'that day' the time after his death, burial, resurrection and ascension? |
Bible Answer: When you look at the theme of the conversation Jesus is having with the disciples, He is talking about "what's coming up", to include His suffering, death, resurrection, and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Jesus has been telling the disciples how things will change when the Comforter, Helper (Holy Spirit) has come to them and why it's even better that He goes away and the Holy Spirit comes. "That day" is probably the day they experience all of this because all the things Jesus promised have happened and they have received the Holy Spirit. They will have a keener understanding and they will rejoice. |
