Bible Question:
Now days why are churched people trying to entertain the world, such as mega rap stars. Pleased define gospel entertainment as in the New Testament Bible, is gospel entertainment a part the greater works Christ said the Christian would do. Where in bible can I find such Christian conduct? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Edd! I think the problem lies in the liberal interpretation of Paul's declarition to the Corinthians: To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. (1 Corinthians 9:22) But Paul never said that he practiced divination, witchcraft, idolatry... in order to fit in with those who would practice such vices in order to save "all"... Today, many "Christians" believe that we must engineer theatrical feats to gain the interest of the masses. So we find more and more merging of church and Performers (be it orators, singers, etc...); the Word of God has become a secondary issue--the main concern is bigger and better attractions! Apparently, Jesus was utterly wrong when He stated that: ...small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:14) "Christians" today are proving Christ wrong... they subscribe to the bigger is better and wealthier is best philosophies which they use to bring everyone (translation: anything goes) to God! Christ was not a performer! When the masses searched Him out with their hypocritical "Rabbi..." Jesus flatly told them: ..."I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. (John 6:26) Yes, all Christians have the duty to bring others to Christ; but, that duty does not give us the lisence to conform Scriture to the world's values! God Bless! Angel |
