Bible Note: Hi, Edd! Great post! You sure have hit the nail on the head! God is all about truth. Feelings come and go. The battle is to dig out the lie in our mind and to replace it with the truth of God. Thank you for your post! Since another person keeps posting catechism texts, I'll do the same with the readers kind permission. This is called the "Regulatory Principle." It is a principle that helps us decide what are the appropriate and right ways we ought to approach God in worship. "The light of nature shews that there is a God, who hath lordship and sovereignty over all; is just, good and doth good unto all; and is therefore to be feared, loved, praised, called upon, trusted in, and served, with all the heart and all the soul, and with all the might. But the acceptable way of worshipping the true God, is instituted by himself, and so limited by his own revealed will, that he may not be worshipped according to the imagination and devices of men, nor the suggestions of Satan, under any visible representations, or any other way not prescribed in the Holy Scriptures." (Jer 10:7; Mark 12:33; Deu 12:32; Ex 20:4-6) (If folks are interested, I can define some of these terms and phrases.) Look up these scriptures... they're great! Edd: Just walk in the truth of the Word... it doesn't matter what you see, hear, feel, etc. God's truth is far more sure than any sensation, no matter how strong that sensation! Our experiences do not define truth... God defines truth. We'll be praying for you, brother! |
