Subject: Then love is a litmus test? |
Bible Note: Exactly. That is the point. He that is of God hears God's words. And God calls us to love. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Speak the truth in love. But let your speech be with grace, seasoned with salt, lest the brother be offended. A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle. Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hops all things, endures all things. Love never fails. There are false prophets. But whosoever keeps his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. |
