Bible Question: I'm not sure what relationship this verse has to do with Jesus washing his disciples feet. Can anyone help? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Gen 19:2, John 13:5-16, 1 Tim 5:9-10 ... top, greetings. Washing the feet was the (lowest) servant's (slave's) job, if one had one (or more). People would wear sandals and the roads and streets were dusty. If you ever had dusty feet you would know how good it felt to have clean feet. Jesus was showing that He as their leader was willing to take on the role of that servant, when one of them should of. He asked them and us to be willing to be the servant. There are some churches that practice washing feet. Hope this helps Searcher |
