Bible Question:
Hi to you again Mr Doc Im looking at the Eph. 2:8as you say but I see it says grace is the gift of God. You are saying to he gives this gift to whomever he chooses is it saying so Im not seeing this. But if you are right then why did he choose to not let the Pharissee to see itand causing them to givehis son Jesus a difacult time ending in his death? Thankfully KcabmI4 |
Bible Answer: Hi, Kcabml4... As John 10:26 states, the Jewish leadership did not believe because they were not the Lord's sheep. One of the characteristics of His sheep is that they hear His call and follow Him (John 10:27). Salvation is a matter of God's will (John 1:13) in the face of man's inability; for man is unable to obey God (Matthew 7:18, Romans 8:7-8), never seeks God (Romans 3:11), and is unwilling and unable to come to God for help (John 3:19-20, John 5:40, John 6:44, 65). God, man's creator, has the perfect right to do with men whatever He chooses to do (Isaiah 45:9). Indeed, God does as He pleases (Psalms 115:3; cf Psalms 135:6, Job 23:13, Daniel 4:35, Ephesians 1:11). He does whatever He wants to do. God does as He pleases, exactly as He pleases, and only as He pleases. Our Lord has a plan, something the Bible calls His "eternal purpose" (Isaiah 46:10-11; Acts 4:28; Romans 8:28, 9:11; 2 Timothy 1:9; Ephesians 3:11). His purpose will stand forever, because God never changes (1 Samuel 15:29; Jeremiah 4:28; 23:20). Can Man or Angel or Demon keep Him from accomplishing His eternal purpose? By no means (Psalms 33:11, 148:3; Proverbs 19:21; Job 41:11; Isaiah 14:27; Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:17). You asked, "why did he choose to not let the Pharissee to see it" (sic) Paul answers that question: "What if God, desiring to show His wrath and to make known His power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of His glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory -- even us whom He has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?" (Romans 9:22-24 ESV) You also asked why God caused "them to givehis son Jesus a difacult time ending in his death?" (sic) According to the Scriptures, it was His will (Isaiah 53:10), for the redemption of His own (Galatians 3:13), as a manifestation of His love (1 John 4:9-10) for His own glory. In Him, Doc |
