Bible Answer: Dear jdecka, Simon is a very common name. There are even 2 Simons in the twelve disciiples (Matthew 10:2 and 10:4). The one you are inquiring - Peter/Simon/Cephas - is son of John or Jona. See John 1:42 and Matthew 16:17. Shalom Azure |
