Subject: A new name in Christ |
Bible Note: Whenever we come to Christ he gives us a new name in the sense that we have a new direction in life. Simon became Peter (Cephas) meaning rock. It would be his duty to be a rock in the founding of the church. When we come to Christ he gives us gifts to fulfil our duties. In a very real sense this is our new name. |
