Bible Question:
Hello, Reading John 1 verse 19-21 When John the Baptist is being asked who he was. In the Old Testament gives references relating to the questions asked to John the Baptist, who he was. Where did I look in the Old Testament?Again thank you so much |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Deu 18:15, 18; 2Ki 2:12; Mal 4:5; Mat 11:14, 17:10-12; Mar 9:11-13; Luk 1:17; Joh 1:19-25 ... John denied he was Elijah, who was taken up in a chariot (2Ki 2:12) and was promised (Mal 4:5). John came in the spirit and power of Elijah (Luk 1:17). Jesus called John, Elijah (Mat 11:14, 17:10-12 (Mar 9:11-13)). John denied he was the prophet (Deu 18:15, 18) which wasn't Chirst according to them (Joh 1:25). Hope I answered your question, Searcher |
