AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 1:14 ¶ And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception). Bible Question:
My son's have come under the teaching that while Jesus was here on earth, that he was man, and not God. I believe he was the God/man. What do you think? |
Bible Answer: Here on earth, Jesus was fully man and fully God. He never for one moment ceased to be God. This is one of THE ESSENTIALS OF THE FAITH. This is a basic belief of the historic Christian faith. To in any way dilute or cast doubt upon the Deity of Christ is to put oneself on very thin ice. If one does not believe that Christ is God, then one does not believe that Christ is who He said He is. To believe that He is who the Bible says He is -- this is an essential element of what it means to *believe* on Christ for salvation. . . . I am in no way saying your sons are not Christians. But I seriously doubt the spiritual status of their teacher(s). To wilfully (if that is the case) reject revealed truth about Jesus Christ and His gospel is evidence that one has fallen into apostasy. |
