Bible Question:
Who is worthy to receive the lord, I have been asked this question, but would like to answer it with scripture from the bible.... Can anyone help me with this |
Bible Answer: Hi booneswife, I think it wise to remember: Worthy is the Lamb, not the sheep! John 1:12 tells us, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name," Christ said in Matt. 9:13, "But go and learn what this means: 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Further, Paul in writing to the Romans states explicitly in 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." None of us is worthy in and of ourselves. It is all of grace- Thank God! I think Eph. 2:4-5 sums it up: "But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)," I trust this will be of help.
