Bible Question: If the early church was 100 percent Jewish, when, why and how did that change to the Jews not accepting Christ as the Messiah now? |
Bible Answer: While the earliest church may have been 100 percent Jewish, the Jewish people NEVER WERE 100 percent Christian. To put it another way, there never was a time when ALL the Jewish people were believers in Jesus as the Messiah. You write: "why and how did that change to the Jews not accepting Christ as the Messiah now?" Christ and Messiah mean EXACTLY the same thing. Christ is the Greek work for Messiah and Messiah is the Hebrew word for Christ. In other words, as you worded it, you're asking: Why and how did that change to the Jews not accepting Christ as Christ? or Why and how did that change to the Jews not accepting the Messiah as the Messiah? |
