Bible Question: why am i alive . does my life matter.what is my purpose |
Bible Answer: Hi, elshabazz... These are some of the important questions anyone can ask. The Word of God explicitly answers them. An important lesson you will learn as you come to know God through His word is that the "I/me/my" questions will melt away in the heat of a heart that loves the Lord. You may have experienced falling in love. Certainly you've seen others around you fall in love. When a man and woman love one another, their every concern is about the other person. They will happily forgo all manner of personal comfort to please the other person. We'd doubt their love if all their concerns involved "I/me/my." Let me suggest that you look at the first few questions of the Heidelberg Catechism. God is the object of our desire, joy, and devotion. Note how He loved us, before we loved Him. God is rightfully just, yet He grants us mercy; and not a very costly mercy at that! http://www.rcus.org/main/standards.asp In Him, Doc |
