Subject: Where is Jesus called "...the God"? |
Bible Note: Hi Truthfinder, I said the things I said from the outlook of being a "capitalizer". The Jehovah's Witness would see Jesus as a god and as "that one" if they looked at capitalization as interpretation. They see Jesus as the "light" of the world rather than as our latest NASB copyright interprets John 8:12. "Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world;..." I can not agree that you are a "Truthfinder" when you do not recognize Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one cometh unto the Father except through Him. He and the Father are one. The Holy Spirit is God. God is Spirit. The name given Jesus was Immanuel, meaning "God with us". Jesus laid aside His heavenly glory and came in the likeness of men. But John 1:14 says that "we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." He is the only begotten Son (God) who is in the bosom of the Father; in other words He and the Father are one. No man has seen God (who is Spirit) at any time but the Son has explained Him. I believe that you need to consider that Jesus was not just a man; He was a Man. He was not a god; He was God with us. He was not a son; He was the Son of God. He was not an angel; we can think of Him as the Angel of God. From the heart, Ray |
