Subject: Memories? |
Bible Note: Hi Mommapbs, I like to see those words of praise from Cyclist, also. I regret that I can't think of any verses to refer him to for remembering or memories. I appreciate your Genesis 19:26 passage for Lot's wife "looking back". In Luke 9 and in Genesis I see a lot of "buts". Luke 9:59, But he said, "Permit me first to..."60 "but first permit me to say goodbye to those at home." Genesis 19:26. "But his wife, from behind him, looked back; and she became a pillar of salt." I wonder if Lot's wife wanted to say goodbye to old friends instead of leaving the past behind her and forging on ahead. A look at Luke 17:32-37 will remind us also of Lot's wife and how one was taken and one was left. "Luke 17:33, "Whoever seeks to keep his life shall lose it, and whoever loses his life shall preserve it." We have to leave our past behind us, and press on. Perhaps Luke 18:1 should be included in the passage in that we "ought to pray and not to lose heart." From the heart, Ray |
