Bible Question: luke 9;58 says foxes have holes...birds have nest....my wifes pastor is bored with the bilble and now says that foxes in this verse is represenitive of herod because jesus later calls him afox..and birds represent rome...can you tellme where he read this .....what writer holds to this nonsense...rc shoun |
Bible Answer: The foxes in luke 9.58 refer to foxes. Jesus' point is simply that while even foxes and birds have somewhere to be at home, He Himself did not. He was pointing out that those who wished to follow him must share in His rough life. We must beware of reading into illustrative parts of simple statements deep meanings. |
