Bible Question: what does the bible means by saying that whosoever that wants to save his life will lose it, but whosoever that loses his lifefor his sake willsave it?luke 9 vs 24. |
Bible Answer: It is the natural nature of man to practice self-preservation. This is where we will guard our life from harm or loss at all cost. This is what we see with Christ the Savior in the garden before He was betrayed. He was battleing what is natural to man and He was man, self- preservation. Matt 26:39 And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will." We are seeking to preserve our lives when we seek our own desires, ambitions, goals etc, where the focus of our life is self rather than Christ. Christianity is a life of following Jesus, giving our all to Him, doing His will rather than ours or others therefore we lose our life for His sake If we preserve our life here it will be lost for eternality, if we lose our life here it will be saved for eternality.
