Subject: Can I remarry and be forgiven by god |
Bible Note: Dear Friend, The reality of life is that some things we do come with terrible consequences. Because you committed adultery does not necessitate that you be eternally lost. God forgave Christians in the first century of worse things. You also want to know if you can remarry and be happy. For a woman in love it doesn't seem appropriate to start wondering if you can remarry. Do you think that happiness is only found in marriage? You might find that it isn't God's will that you be married. You also might find happiness without marriage. Being forgiven by God does not come with the guarantee of avoiding the consequences for wrongs done. In this day and age, it is not likely that your Pastor will give you Book, Chapter and Verse in his answer to this question. If you are sincerely seeking to do God's will, you will find the answer in the Bible. Hank is right [see his kind rebuke to gmsmith], the many voices coming at you in the forum might confuse more than enlighten you. We should be careful not to give too much specific Biblical counsel on such a difficult issue. That's why I say, read your Bible. God bless. |
