Bible Note: Hi Catfish, I know exactly where you are coming from. I find, as someone once quipped, “people are sitting on the premises rather then standing on the promises”. It is ten times harder to unlearn bad doctrine then it is to exchange it for true Bible supported facts. People get something fixed in their heads, even though it’s way out of context with what the sum of God’s word teaches and it’s like trying to move The Rock of Gibraltar with a shovel. Psalm 119:160 NASB The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting. When trying to straighten out false doctrine with numerous scriptures, that they have never considered before, people look at the teacher like he has two heads or something. Ephes. 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; You’re not alone brother, CDBJ |
