Subject: what is back sliding |
Bible Note: Thank you for your note, John Pilgrim. I agree with you wholeheartedly. My righteousness is but filthy rags, and I know it only too well. Backsliding is serious business. It is committing sins against God with no regard for Him or for what is right. I, myself, have recently been described by God Himself as a "backslidden daughter." God took away someone from me because my attitude toward him was not holy and righteous. I tried for 6 years to not be attracted to this person, but it seemed like I just could not overcome my feelings for him, so God removed him from my life. In fact, I was the one who had to tell him I had to give up his fellowship and friendship. I am no longer a backslidden daughter because God, in His mercy and His grace has solved the problem for me, since I could not do it myself. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. That is the truth. The Lord requires much when you are in a ministry, and aren't we ALL in a ministry of some kind, whether it be at our workplace or at school, or wherever we spend our time? I was in prison ministry and I was attracted to the prisoner who was a lot younger than me. I could not overcome it, though I tried desperately. So God told me, "No more, daughter," and took him away. Yes, backsliding is serious business. Praise Be To God! Janae |
