Bible Note: John, I AM taking the verse in context- that's why I'm trying to understand how this verse fits in between the verses around it. To understand the larger context I think it's necesary to fully understand the smaller pieces of that structure. So to fully understand a book of the Bible you must understand each chapter, then each paragraph, verse... etc. I am trying to understand what God is trying tell us- the only way to do this is, in my opinion, to understand what He said, why He said it, and the way in which He said it; otherwise there is the danger of misinterpretation. Your thoughts were helpful, I just wanted to clarify my approach to reading/understanding the Bible. Thanks! |
