Bible Question: What is the difference between an apostle and a disciple? Who are the apostles? Who are the disciples? |
Bible Answer: God's day to you, beccabiblestudier, and weclome to the SBF, Luke 6:13 says that He chose 12 apostles from the disciples that were with Him. Luke 9:54 calls James and John disciples. Luke 5:33 says that John and the Pharisees had disciples. Disciples are followers/think of discipline. Matthias (Acts 1:26) is also an apostle, meaning one who is sent forth as a messenger. Barnabas and Paul (Acts 14:14), Timothy and Silas (1 The 1:1 and 2:6) plus Apollos (1 Cor 4:9) were called apostles. Great question. Continue ask more and share your thoughts, Searcher |
