NASB | Luke 4:20 And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Luke 4:20 Then He rolled up the scroll [having stopped in the middle of the verse], gave it back to the attendant and sat down [to teach]; and the eyes of all those in the synagogue were [attentively] fixed on Him. |
Bible Question (short): Was this a declaration of divinity? |
Question (full): Did Jesus sit down on the Seat of Moses which synagogues had at this time(so I'm told)? This would have been a declaration to the people that He (Jesus) was the successor of Moses and the Christ. Is there any truth to what I've been told? |
