Bible Question: Did Jesus know how to read? Did he speak Aramaic? Did he know how to read Greek and Hebrew? |
Bible Answer: Jesus probably spoke Aramaic the common language of the people. But He also exhibited a excellent working knowledge of Greek and Hebrew reading from the scrolls and giving quotes from the Septuagint. We know Jesus spoke to the Roman Centurion and Pilate which shows he knew Greek or Latin. Jesus also spoke to Samaritan woman and Samaritan's usually didn't speak Aramaic but Hebrew instead. |
