NASB | Luke 3:16 John answered and said to them all, "As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Luke 3:16 John answered them all by saying, "As for me, I baptize you [only] with water; but One who is mightier [more powerful, more noble] than I is coming, and I am not fit to untie the strap of His sandals [even as His slave]. He will baptize you [who truly repent] with the Holy Spirit and [you who remain unrepentant] with fire. [Matt 3:11] |
Subject: Romans 5:10 , Romans 6:3 Is Baptism need |
Bible Note: Yes! Baptism is essential for Salvation. The scripture verifies it. Mark 16:15-16 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. On the day of Pentecost; Peter was preaching to devout men from every nation, Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians and he told all of these men from different nations to do the same thing. Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the holy ghost. In Acts 8: The Ethiopian Eunuch after being taught by Philip replied “ See here is water, what doth hinder me to be baptized?” So... My question is this, If baptism is not essential for salvation, then how are your sins remitted? |
