Question (full): Why did Christ instruct the Disciples to obtain swords (which they did in verse 38)? Earlier He had told them not to carry swords. Later that evening He would even intervene when Peter, the fisherman -- no swordsman he -- made an attack on one of the temple servants. Why do you think Christ went back and forth like this on the question of carrying weapons? |
