Bible Question:
In both Luke (Chapter 21) and Mark (Chapter 13) Jesus explains end time signs and say's "I tell you the truth this generation will not pass away until these things have happened". The generation Jesus was talking to obviously passed away without "these things" happening. Please explain/clarify. Seeking the Truth. Ermin |
Bible Answer: Hi Ermin, This word that is translated "generation" can mean "the entire group of people born in this certain time", but it can also mean "this entire line of people", such as a nation or ethnic group. Based on this, it's possible Jesus was saying, in effect, the Jews will be be destroyed or obliterated until total salvation of the remnant is completed. I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |
