Bible Question: Ok, i'm 17, and i will be 18 soon...The Bible doesnt really say anything about liking a man who is considerably older than you. Or does it? Is it wrong to like someone who is almost 24 years older than me? Some of my friends tell me it's wrong, but the Bible says nothing about it. |
Bible Answer: Dear cute-46 - No, you're right; the Bible doesn't say anything about "liking" an older man. But it says a great deal about wisdom. Go to the "Quick Search" on this page, type in the word "wisdom" and see what you find. There is a great deal more involved in boy-girl relationships than simply "liking" the person. At age 17 you are much too young to get involved in a romantic relationship with a man who is almost three times your age. By the time you blossom into womanhood, he'll be on Social Security! You're playing with fire, young lady. Date Christian boys near your own age. --Hank |
