Bible Question:
Isa:43:11: I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. Luke 2:11 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” How can you reconcile the two verses? San Lukas |
Bible Answer: Hi If you refer to Philippians 2.8-11 you will discover that Jesus was given the Name above every Name. This is the name of YHWH. In Matthew 28.18-20 Jesus told His disciples to baptise in 'the Name' of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is the Nme of YHWH. Thus the Name of the Son is YHWH. In Isaiah 43.11 it is YHWH Who is the Saviour. Thus there is no contradiction. The name Jesus in fact means 'YHWH is salvation. Best wishes Jonp |
